Introduction To The Role And Practice
Centra is actively seeking Urgent Care Physicians for our growing Urgent Care Centers. We are seeking candidates with a MD/DO distinction, and who are board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine. CMG operates 3 urgent care facilities, bringing a full range of health and wellness services to Central Virginia families.
You Can Expect
Shift work no call Open 8am 8pm, Monday Sunday 142 - 12-hour shifts required per year Volume: 2.5-3 patients per hour during a 12-hour shift Providers scheduled per shift: 2-3 depending on volume, day of the week, and season Efficient assessment of all patients present Treatment and evaluation of adult and pediatric patients with minor/appropriate medical conditions Simple suturing, incisions and drainage Initial simple fracture care X-ray interpretation with radiology backup doing real time read

Required Qualifications
Completion of medical degree and residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or in the process of certifying.

CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.
CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.
