Performs professional and administrative work related to the coordination of the City of Orlando's Community Rating System (CRS) activities. Collaborates with FEMA and the Insurance Services Office, Inc. to document and verify the City's involvement in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and CRS. Ensures the City maintains and improves its classification and flood insurance discounts. Works with development review staff and other City departments to develop procedures related to floodplain development and management. Assists with permit reviews within the floodplain. Reports to the Floodplain Manager and works independently, making decisions on Floodplain Management and CRS issues. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Administration, plus four (4) years of experience in civil engineering, flood management coordination, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PE license required. Floodplain Manager certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications to proceed.
