Our client, a busy Union Healthcare Clinic located near the west side of Chicago, has an immediate opening for an experienced, full-time, temp-to-hire IL Licensed RN or LPN. A CPR/BLS Certification is required. Candidates must have at least 1 year of recent, related nursing experience. As a Staff Nurse, you will provide ambulatory care services, assess and treat patient conditions, and deliver preventive care. Bilingual skills in Polish or Spanish are a plus but not required.
Job Responsibilities
Complete patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
Check in scheduled patients, prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories and complaints, and ordering preliminary tests prior to unscheduled visits.
Ensure that physician’s previous and current orders are followed.
Assist physicians with general medical examinations, pelvic exams, ear irrigations, suture removals, specimen preparations, throat cultures, etc.
Assist and prepare patients for minor surgeries, proctoscopies, cystoscopies, and other procedures.
Follow up on abnormal test results to facilitate physician intervention.
Maintain documentation within the EMR system according to guidelines.
Administer blood draws, injections, immunizations, and perform venipunctures.
Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease management.
The position requires flexible shifts Monday-Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, with possible extension until 8:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and some Saturdays. After the temp contract, you will be eligible for a comprehensive union benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with minimal out-of-pocket costs, overtime pay, generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave, Union Pension Plan, 403b Retirement Plan, Life Insurance, and more.
