Job Description: The scope of responsibility and accountability for the Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPDP) aligns with professional standards and evolves to meet the demands of the practice setting.
The NPDP is a registered nurse (RN) with NPD practice judgment and expertise who influences professional role competence and growth of learners in various settings, aiming to improve population health. The term “practitioner” is used only in conjunction with NPD as a title.
Education:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
BSN required.
Master's degree in nursing education preferred.
Certification in clinical practice/specialty practice preferred.
For Central NPDPs:
BSN required.
Nursing Professional Development Board Certification required or eligible to sit for this certification.
2 years in a department-based (unit or clinic) nursing professional development practitioner role is strongly preferred.
Experience:
Experience as a clinical preceptor required.
5 years of nursing experience required.
5 years of nursing experience in the applicable clinical specialty strongly preferred.
This is a bargaining union position.
