Quality Control Supervisor

What is a Quality Control Supervisor? The Quality Control Supervisor ensures that inspection priorities are correctly set and maintained, acting as a buffer between divisions competing for inspection resources. This role upholds compliance with API 6A, API Q1, and Downing QMS requirements. In addition, the Quality Control Supervisor leads and develops the QC team, ensuring inspectors and technicians are properly trained and qualified.
In this role, you will:
· Review work order requirements
· Oversee final inspections, manufacturing NCR and IMTE calibration system maintenance
· Ensure eye exams are performed and kept up to date for manufacturing employees
· Approve timecards and PTO for the QC Team
· Oversee/perform NDE (MT/PT) as required
· Directly manage/supervise the NDE/QC Inspectors and administrative assistant
· Maintain quality control procedures and inspection protocols
· Other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience:
· Five – Eight years’ experience in an API 6A machine shop/manufacturing environment
· Three – Five years’ supervisory experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment
· Licensed Level II NDE (MT & PT) to ASNT-SNT preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
· Regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, cold or hot (non-weather)
· Occasionally required to sit, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands or arms, work around fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions
· Lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
· Vision requirement – see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less) or long distances (clear vision at 20 feet or more), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, three-dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
· Moderate to loud noise levels
Education:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Bachelor’s degree - Industrial Technology, Business Administration; preferred
· Four (4) years or more in an API 6A machine/assembly shop or two (2) – four (4) years in an API Q1 or ISO 9001 may be substituted for the above education
