SBA Business Development Officer

Citizens . Citizens is expanding its SBA program nationally and is currently recruiting for Business Development Officers (BDO) across the country. The BDO is responsible for sourcing, identifying, and closing new loan opportunities using the SBA 7(a) and 504 loan programs. Primary Responsibilities Include
Develop and implement a personal business plan and marketing strategy to identify new business opportunities and create a solid contact base of current and potential referral sources. Maintain a referral network targeting business brokers, consultants, lawyers, accountants, and related professionals to generate leads and achieve sales goals. Guide lending opportunities through the application, underwriting, and closing process, ensuring SBA requirements are met. Understand bank credit policies and underwriting guidelines, practicing sound risk management and regulatory compliance. Participate in local SBA district events within assigned markets. Develop and manage a pipeline of SBA loan opportunities through activities like cold calling, attending SBA events, and cultivating Centers of Influence (COIs). Establish and maintain referral networks for consistent SBA loan origination. Collaborate with Business Banking partners to deliver a seamless, customer-centric experience that supports portfolio growth. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across Business Banking teams. Qualifications
5+ years of SBA lending experience with a successful track record in loan origination. Deep knowledge of SBA loan programs, underwriting, and compliance. Strong financial analysis, credit underwriting, and risk assessment skills. Exceptional sales, negotiation, and customer service skills. Leadership, mentoring, and effective communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred. Hours & Work Schedule
