Position Summary: Provide ongoing support in the Accounting Department to ensure select Accounting systems are supported and maintained. Essential Functions: Process Accounts Payable coding and entry daily. Resolve Accounts Payable issues, including communication with vendors and others, daily. Process check runs 2-3 times per week. Process cash receipts 1-2 times per week. Process journal entries as needed. Process Accounts Receivable statements as needed. Process international purchases and demand note verification weekly. Process international payments weekly. Analyze expenses monthly. Reconcile petty cash at least monthly or as needed. Process debits and credits weekly. Reconcile bank statements monthly. Process inventory adjustments as needed. Process freight claims as needed. Provide backup for daily mail distribution and telephone support as necessary. Engage in daily interactions with co-workers, management, and others. Supplemental Functions: Participate in external audit details twice per year. Prepare related spreadsheets and projects for external audits twice per year. Assist with P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations as needed. Reconcile inventory discrepancies as needed. Review Accounts Payable records quarterly, investigate and resolve old issues. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by Controller, Senior Accountant, or Management. General Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Ability to communicate professionally and concisely in writing and orally. Minimum of 3 years related work experience in Accounting. Knowledge of accepted Accounting rules and practices. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn company information systems. Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, and month-end close responsibilities. Competencies: Organized with strong planning and project management skills. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Visual abilities: close and far vision, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Hearing and speaking abilities for communication. Ability to spend 80% of time sitting, speaking, listening; 30% standing/walking/bending; 10% reaching, climbing, lifting. Ability to lift 20 lbs.
