Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Accountantat our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
POSITION SUMMARY
A Senior Accountant position within the Finance Department that provides lead accounting support to Fincantieri Marinette Marine. Primary accounting responsibilities include, but are not limited to, period-end closing duties, financial reporting and analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. Further, as a senior level associate, this position provides general accounting support for Finance initiatives and projects, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for period-end closing activities including the accurate preparation of journal entries, intercompany entries and allocations.
Complete and record monthly percentage of completion journal entries and ensure that all Construction Contract balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
Review and maintain balance sheet accruals and reserves on a monthly basis to ensure balances are appropriate.
Maintain Balance Sheet integrity through completion of monthly account analysis and reconciliations.
Oversee general accounting and billing functions to confirm accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
Support weekly cash forecasting.
Perform monthly analysis and financial reporting necessary to provide information required by business unit and corporate level entities.
Provide support to financial analysts during the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
Develop a strong understanding of core accounting processes across business units to ensure consistency in the application of accounting principles and to provide input on process re-engineering or streamlining opportunities.
Support various audit activities by providing timely and accurate information to fulfill audit requests.
Maintain proficiency with financial accounting systems and support continuous improvement efforts.
Various ad-hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
