As a Business Analyst in the Portfolio Performance Analysis Group within Wealth Management Operations, you will be responsible for conducting portfolio & performance analysis, including performance reporting, rate-of-return calculations, return attribution, risk analytics, competitive analysis, and account analysis and construction. You will help external clients understand drivers of performance in their portfolios and internally measure the effectiveness of our Wealth Management products and strategies. There will be high exposure to relationships relevant to First Republic Bank and legacy systems, which will integrate into our Strategic Performance tools. You will also directly support front-office Advisors by addressing ad-hoc client inquiries related to investment performance through detailed account-level analysis.
Job responsibilities
Own responsibilities for our Wealth Management (WM) Account and continue servicing clients on legacy platforms, creating best practices, optimizing processes, and examining current constructions with rigor.
Liaise with key business partners to ensure appropriate account/strategy performance and technology development; collaborate with regional Tech & India PAG teams to produce accurate and timely performance measurement figures for our WM line of business.
Create opportunities for new high-value outputs in portfolio analytics, risk statistics, and strategy vs. benchmark analytics.
Respond promptly to inquiries from front-office financial advisors regarding performance reports, customized calculations, and portfolio analytics; serve as a subject matter expert (Business-As-Usual).
Participate in PAG’s new group-wide strategic performance technology projects; contribute to outlining business requirements, running User Acceptance Tests, and deploying new offerings from our strategic products and platforms.
Assist in writing business requirements, testing, and preparing documentation for strategic projects undertaken by PAG.
Contribute to short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategic projects aimed at improving PAG’s service offering and data quality, including design, development, and testing of the Connect Wealth platform.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
At least 1 year of experience in project and performance measurement.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or similar discipline) from an accredited institution.
Strong analytical skills to research and analyze complex datasets.
Proficiency with formulas, performance measurement methodology, and risk measures.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and composite practices.
Certification in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or progress toward such designations.
Some knowledge of securities operations, trade processing, mainframe accounting systems, and performance system architecture.
Self-motivated, analytical, and creative thinker with the ability to analyze information quickly and implement solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate complex financial and mathematical concepts to senior management, technology partners, and other stakeholders.
Confidence in interacting with front-office personnel and working under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
