This position is primarily responsible for conducting in-service jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels mainly in southern New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area. The Boiler Inspector (Jurisdictional Consultant) will learn to manage, inspect, evaluate, and consult with clients. Inspections are conducted according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, the Rules of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, The National Board Inspection Code, jurisdictional laws, regulations, and FM procedures. The inspector will be supervised by the Operations Chief Inspector. Based on experience, candidates will be considered for a Jurisdictional Consultant I or II position. Minimum Requirements

Education: BS in Engineering, associate degree from a technical school, or high school diploma (or equivalent). Desired: National Board and state certifications, qualified to review repairs per NBIC and FMIC requirements. Required: Meet National Board In-Service commission qualification requirements (RCI-1 NB-263), pass the National Board Exam, and meet state requirements. Must acquire a National Board Commission within 12 months. Experience: Knowledge of boiler and pressure vessel construction, operation, inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment, management systems, and nondestructive testing methods. Skills/Knowledge: Technical knowledge of boiler and pressure vessel industry, communication skills, time management, problem-solving, computer skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
