Job Description: Quality Manager Meat Processing Facility Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho Department: Quality Assurance / Food Safety Reports To: Plant Manager or Director of Operations Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and food safety programs in a fast-paced meat processing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations, maintain product integrity, and drive continuous improvement in quality systems. Responsibilities Oversee all quality assurance activities across production, packaging, and storage areas. Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and company-specific food safety standards. Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality control programs. Lead internal audits and coordinate third-party inspections and certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC). Monitor sanitation procedures and environmental testing protocols. Investigate and resolve quality issues, including customer complaints and non-conformances. Train and supervise QA technicians and sanitation staff. Maintain accurate documentation and records for traceability and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with production, warehouse, and R&D teams to ensure product quality and safety. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency and reduce waste. Manage product hold and release procedures and ensure timely disposition of non-conforming products. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Stay current with industry regulations, trends, and best practices. Support product labeling, specification management, and allergen control programs. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab and QA equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field (required). 35 years of experience in quality assurance within meat or food processing (required). HACCP certification and experience leading HACCP teams. Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC), and food safety regulations. Experience with quality management systems (QMS), document control, and audit readiness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA software (e.g., SafetyChain, TraceGains). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and train staff effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Compensation

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr This range is provided by American Farmers Network. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more. Location
