Job Title: Senior Land Development Manager
Location: Kansas City Metro
About the Role:
A growing residential developer and homebuilder in the Kansas City area is seeking a
Senior Land Development Manager
to oversee and support the entitlement and improvement processes across upcoming residential communities. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between municipal agencies, developers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and align with operational and sales timelines.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive communicator with experience navigating land use approvals and managing residential infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal teams and external developer partners to understand and track all subdivision and site development approval requirements
Monitor land development schedules to align with targeted sales release dates and lot availability
Identify delays or obstacles early and develop proactive solutions to keep projects on track
Participate in feasibility and due diligence for new community acquisitions
Maintain status updates and milestone tracking for each active and upcoming community
Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and municipal staff to resolve permitting or zoning issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; preference for degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or related fields
4+ years of experience in land development, with a focus on residential communities
Familiarity with entitlements, permitting processes, site development, and working with municipalities
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
