The Opportunity:

At Booz Allen, you can use your software architecture expertise to improve the software technology supporting our Department of Defense (DoD) customers within the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) domain. You’ve developed so many organization-wide software architectures that you can orchestrate the best solution for technical challenges and anticipate future concerns. You’re a software architect who defines and develops software architectures and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Translate the customer’s software needs, current capabilities, and future goals into a transformative campaign modeling tool delivered as a service, by developing the technical vision and an architectural roadmap for the offering, while aligning with DoD objectives.

Incorporate AI, ML, or LLM components, including selecting appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet complex requirements, with deep technical AI/ML/LLM expertise and defense-specific compliance or security experience.

Lead the building of an advanced SaaS solution applying generative AI techniques relevant to campaign modeling, including scenario synthesis and simulation data augmentation.

Build digitally transformative, campaign-level modeling and simulation tools, data, and processes to assess weapon efficacy for future procurements and employment, unifying legacy systems into a next-generation AI-accelerated ecosystem.

Guide a team that develops an unprecedented solution encompassing advanced and agile model development, integration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance in a production environment for DoD customers.

Apply AI, ML, and Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, to address complex DoD MS&A domain challenges.

Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor team members while continuously learning new tools and skills.

You Have

8+ years of experience in solution architecture or software engineering

3+ years of experience with AI and ML in production environments

Experience with AI, ML, or LLM systems, including architecture design, model selection, implementation, and deployment

Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++

Experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes, for scalable and reliable deployments

Experience leading solution design and guiding initiatives

Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and mathematical and statistical concepts such as linear algebra, calculus, and probability

Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, used in DoD contexts

TS/SCI clearance

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field

Nice If You Have

Experience in a pre-sales or customer-facing consultative role, translating business needs into technical solutions

Experience with DoD organizations

Knowledge of securing data, including multi-level classified data

Master's degree in a CS, Data Science, or AI field

Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation Salary at Booz Allen is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
