Lead Systems Architect role at
NYC Department of Social Services . APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE COMPUTER SPECIALIST CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR BE REACHABLE WITH THE SCORE OF 100 ON THE OPEN COMPETITIVE COMPUTER SPECIALIST EXAM (# 1139). Under minimum direction of the Director of Systems Operation & Management Control, the Lead Systems Architect is responsible for steering and performing the technical design of Agency financial systems. The Lead Systems Architect is a senior technical advisor to Finance Office management for reworking business processes and providing the framework of financial systems design. This position leads project development teams and ensures delivered systems maintain data integrity. This position is with the Office Of Revenue Management & Development (ORMD)/Strategic Enterprise Analysis & Development (SEAD).
Responsibilities
Lead .NET C# development projects. Senior level experience developing .NET or object-oriented Java systems.
Lead and conduct coding of SQL stored procedures and design SQL Server databases with necessary constraints.
Develop advanced Microsoft Reporting Services dashboards and reports.
Manage and translate functional application requirements into technical design to be developed.
Create methodologies and perform validation and comparisons of data sets to test data quality.
Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related field and two (2) years of software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing software, with one year in a project leader capacity or on a complex project; or
A four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of software experience as described above, including one year in a project leader capacity or on a complex project; or
A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. College credits may substitute up to two years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
Note: To have experience accepted as Project Leader or Major Contributor, explain in detail how your experience qualifies. Experience in operations, QA, hardware installation, help desk, or as an end user will not be accepted for meeting minimum qualifications.
Special Notes To be eligible for Assignment Level IV, candidates must have one year of satisfactory experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project in data administration, database management, operating systems, data communications, capacity planning, and/or on-line applications programming.
Preferred Skills
Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access and Excel.
Experience with full-stack .NET; proficiency in SQL and SQL Server development.
