Financial Analyst (Accountant)
with a strong background in
grants management
to join our finance team. This role will start as a
temporary position with the potential to convert to a permanent role . The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements, performing journal entries, conducting variance analysis, budgeting, and financial analysis. The Financial Analyst will provide in-depth analysis of financial operations to support executive decision-making, ensure compliance with grant requirements, and assist in financial planning processes. Key Responsibilities
Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Perform variance analysis, identifying key drivers and trends to support decision-making. Assist with budget preparation, review, and monitoring for compliance and opportunities for improvement. Conduct statistical, cost, and financial analyses using data from multiple internal systems. Prepare detailed financial reports related to healthcare costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, and profitability. Manage and monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and reporting to ensure compliance with funding requirements. Provide consultation and decision support to management regarding policies, initiatives, and financial procedures. Perform research, forecasting, and special financial projects, including resolving conflicts and discrepancies. Collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial reporting. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a finance-based role. Experience in grants management and healthcare finance preferred. An advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of experience. Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, and journal entry preparation. Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements. Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems and ERP platforms preferred. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Senioriry level
