Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maximizing use of PSA’s digital personnel file system, including uploading documents, ensuring personnel files are complete and legally compliant, and recommending best practices for the system.
  • Manage unemployment responses from start to finish, including preparation of initial responses, timely documentation, and representing the Company at unemployment hearings.
  • Provide timely responses to external information requests, such as subpoenas and employment verification requests/letters.
  • Assist with updating the Team Member handbook and policies on a regular basis.
  • Manage Work Instructions for the Employee Relations (ER) and Leave of Absence (LOA) teams.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies to maintain compliance.
  • Prepare HR reports as needed.
  • Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and related Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience processing unemployment requests.
  • Familiar with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of document retention policies.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • HR Certification.
  • Workday experience.

Additional Information

  • Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.
  • Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to HR Program Manager.
  • Authorities: None
  • Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires talking or hearing; this is largely a sedentary role, but may require standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 lbs, and repetitive use of hands.
