provides high-quality solutions customized for today’s economy. Responsibilities: Developing Safety Policies and Procedures
Create comprehensive safety protocols specific to roofing hazards (e.g., fall protection, ladder safety, and material handling). Maintain company’s Safety Manual.
Training and Education
Provide ongoing education on new safety practices and updated regulations. Schedule training for all employees to remain in compliance with safety guidelines: Fall Protection, OSHA standards, CERTA Torch safety, Aerial and Forklift, Crane Signals/ Rigging and all other training as needed.
Job Site Inspections
Work with safety inspector to conduct in-progress job site safety reviews to confirm that all sites meet safety requirements. Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Equipment and PPE Management
Ensure employees have access to appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it meets safety standards. Conduct thorough accident investigations, documenting and reporting incidents appropriately. Document findings and develop preventative measures to avoid future incidents. Assist in managing workers' compensation cases, ensuring employees follow appropriate return-to-work procedures.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintain records in accordance with corporate policies and OSHA regulations. Maintain records of safety training, certifications, and incident reports. Prepare site-specific safety plans as needed to support projects and operations. Jobsite Hazard Analysis reports. Attend pre-construction meetings as required to support project safety planning.
Communication and Reporting
Collaborate with managers, superintendents, foreman, and crew leads to reinforce safety policies. Generate detailed reports to document safety activities and initiatives. Develop and implement emergency protocols for severe weather, injuries, or equipment failure. Represent the company during OSHA inspections, citations, and hearings as required.
Promoting a Safety Culture
Encourage employees to report unsafe practices without fear of retaliation. Lead by example to maintain a proactive and positive safety environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards. Proficient user of Excel, MS Word, and web-based software systems. Knowledge of roofing-related products and installation methods. Excellent communication and leadership skills to enforce safety procedures. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification. OSHA 500 certification preferred. Special Position Requirements: Sit, stand, walk, climb, and balance. Stoop, crouch, and step over obstacles. Lift and/or move 50 lbs. Work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, cold/hot temperatures, and humidity. Available to work extended hours. Disclaimer:
