Job Title: Project Manager - Advanced Materials Solutions

Location: Elmore, Ohio (on-site position)

Working on a full range of innovative engineered products to meet the most challenging design requirements, from tiny, game-changing technology in semiconductor chips to the harshest conditions in outer space. Work with customers in the Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Energy, Industrial, Semiconductor, and Telecommunications markets to enable and optimize their cutting-edge applications.

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for product management from customer design to production. The ideal candidate will manage product ownership from ideation to commercialization, drive innovation, and enhance the performance of critical technologies. This role requires strong project management skills, a background in manufacturing, engineering, and the ability to work independently while keeping management informed of progress and important issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex engineering programs from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage product ownership throughout the entire lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their design requirements and translate them into actionable product development plans.
  • Develop supply chain strategy for part delivery; work with internal and external suppliers as necessary to meet program deliverables.
  • Work independently while maintaining clear communication with management on progress and critical issues.
  • Actively participate in customer interactions, conferences, and stay abreast of the latest scientific and market trends.
  • Address challenging materials problems requiring higher strength, fracture toughness, thermal conductivity, stiffness, or corrosion resistance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain to ensure seamless product development and production processes.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies throughout the development process.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with a focus on product manufacturing and advanced materials.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with project management software and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with customers, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools.

Qualifications that are a plus / nice to have:

  • Proven expertise in working with specialty alloys, composites, and technical ceramics for critical technology applications.
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Experience with materials and metallurgical science background.
  • Proven product or process development skills.
  • Master Black Belt.
  • Experience in casting and thermo-mechanical processing of a variety of alloy systems
