VOLT is immediately hiring for a Tool Crib Attendant in Santa Maria, CA. As a Tool Crib Attendant you will: Issue tools and equipment to workers and maintain records of issued and returned items. Kit and release tooling on a timely basis as required for work orders. Implement effective processes to ensure real time transacting (issuing from stock/ returning to stock. Implement effective chain of custody controls to prevent lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Inspect and measure returned tools and equipment for defects and wear, reporting damage to supervisors. Maintain active account of inventory in need of repair or in need of commercial or technical obsoletion Implement Kan Ban Systems based on meaningful categories-ABCD categorization. Ensure the location in the system matches the physical location. Conduct cycle counts by location and by part number using ABCD methodology. Perform full physical inventory as required Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools, supplies and equipment, and requisition stock to replenish inventory. Repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment. Participate in process improvement and optimization initiatives. Manage workstation organization and cleanliness and practice good housekeeping techniques. Perform housekeeping in tool crib and adjacent shop area, including emptying trash cans, sweeping floors and any other cleanup that is needed. Other duties as assigned/necessary. This is a 1st Shift Opportunity | Monday - Thursday 5:30AM - 4:00PM Pay rate: $21.00 - $25.00/hr. The ideal candidate will have: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before Company managers and employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs.
