Clinical Lab Scientist HLA Lab (Night Shift) Location: Stanford Blood Center, Palo Alto, CA. Address: 3373 Hillview Ave, California. Shift: Night - 08 Hour, Mon-Fri, 10:30pm - 7:00am. Full-time position with shift differential and benefits. Base pay range: $57.48/hr - $76.14/hr. Stanford Blood Center's Histocompatibility Lab seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform highly complex human histocompatibility testing for organ transplantation in our serological laboratory. Notes: This role requires critical thinking in a high-complexity environment. HLA experience is a plus, but we offer excellent training. Responsibilities

Performs HLA antibody identification and crossmatching, including deceased donor workups. Test specimens, analyze, interpret, and report results. Investigate and report trends or shifts in quality control. Troubleshoot instrumentation and assays using procedure manuals and manufacturer documentation. Function as an advanced technical resource for other CLS team members. Perform complex assays and provide training and evaluations to technicians and other Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Participate in lab projects and take a leading role in training more junior team members. Serve as technical expert or point person for one or more specialized areas, instruments, or processes in the department. Perform advanced troubleshooting of instrument and assay problems and maintain documentation; update SOPs as needed. Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a life science required. 3+ to 5 years of hands-on testing experience in a clinical and/or clinical histocompatibility lab required. Licenses, Certifications, and Knowledge

California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license required upon hire. Out-of-state candidates qualify if MLS (ASCP) or CHT/CHS (ACHI) certified. HLA experience highly preferred. If no prior HLA experience, CLS (Generalists) with overnight shift experience may be considered. Advanced knowledge of clinical sample testing, complex testing processes, laboratory information systems, and the ability to interpret and synthesize results. Seniority, Type and Function
