The College of Education has an outstanding opportunity for a Creative Director to join their team. The Creative Director leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive impact dissemination strategy designed to amplify the work of the Inclusionary Practices Technical Assistance Network (IPTN). IPTN provides high-quality guidance, technical assistance (TA), and professional development resources to districts to disrupt segregated systems of disproportionality and reduce exclusionary practices in Washington schools, with a focus on outcomes for students with disabilities (IDD) and for Black students with disabilities. The Creative Director ensures all creative outputs are strategic, compelling and aligned with organizational values. This is a temporary part-time position at 50% FTE and reports to the PI, overseeing freelancers and creative staff and serving a key leadership role in the project.

Key Responsibilities
Deliverables & Leadership 50%
Build a team of staff and/or consulting partners/freelancers with expertise in editing, graphic design, web design, instructional design, multimedia storytelling, and inclusionary practices in P-12 education.
Partner with team members for outreach, engagement, and collaboration with network advisors, districts, network providers, design team, disability communities, families, students, schools, evaluator, and other partners to collect information and develop a plan to scale and promote impact of inclusionary practices/IPTN.
Guide the translation of complex educational strategies into accessible, engaging, public-facing products.
Develop and manage the production of integrated professional learning multimedia materials (e.g., case studies, online modules, video libraries, interactive toolkits) that promote inclusive instructional practices.
Develop and maintain an impact dissemination library – a centralized platform housing all public-facing assets that promote network impact.
Collaborate with project leadership to prioritize resources, manage timelines, and align deliverables with organizational strategy.
Prepare and submit noteworthy and new creative works for University distribution channels, industry recognition, and relevant educational conferences.
Creative Direction, Brand Management 30%
Provide creative direction for print, digital, and broadcast dissemination and oversee internal and external creative resources.
Establish and ensure consistent brand voice and identity standards for all public-facing multimedia products.
Model organizational values with emphasis on representation, inclusion and access.
Deliver strategic and scalable solutions to help disseminate educational efforts.
Champion accessibility and inclusion in all outputs, ensuring Section 508 compliance.
Project Management 20%
Own the end-to-end creative production process to ensure timely completion of deliverables within budget and on brand.
Create and maintain detailed project timelines, milestones, and production schedules.
Monitor and track project budget including all direct costs.
Work with consultants/freelancers/vendors to define scope of work, monitor deliverables, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with goals.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, design or a related field, plus a minimum of five years of industry experience in filmmaking (video and livestream) and marketing, design or brand management, two of which should be in a supervisory capacity.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Additional Qualifications
Demonstrated experience leading strategic and creative outcomes within complex organizations, institutions and/or brands including Washington state agencies.
Knowledge of P-12 educational frameworks across general and special education.
Demonstrated state and national multimedia accomplishments and awards.
Familiarity with Washington state education inclusionary practices efforts.
Strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership, brand stewardship, and multimedia storytelling in an education-related context.
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree in communications, business, marketing, design or a related field, with ten years of industry experience in filmmaking (video and livestream) and marketing, design or brand management, two of which should be in a supervisory capacity.
