Description Citi’s Commercial Bank (CCB) for the North American (NAM) region focuses on emerging, mid- and larger-sized companies in the United States or Canada, with annual revenue generally from $20 million to $1 billion plus. To facilitate the CCB’s wholesale lending activities, Commercial Lending Management (CLM) serves as an in-business credit function organized around strategic industries and a global target market approach. CLM plays a critical role in the client delivery model for the CCB, translating thought-leadership, industry and product expertise, and end-to-end ownership of the credit relationship into lending solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated credit professional to join the NAM CLM Digital Tech & Comms team.

The CLM Analyst facilitates the end-to-end lending process for a covered industry vertical, directly supporting the responsible Credit Officer. CLM delivers a wide range of financial solutions to Citi CCB clients, working in partnership with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk, to execute on business objectives. This includes working capital solutions, term loans and M&A financing, treasury and liquidity management services, foreign exchange, trade finance and interest rate derivatives. Primary responsibilities include credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and documentation, and portfolio monitoring. The CLM Analyst provides objective analysis of borrowers’ financial condition and credit worthiness, including industry and product/market conditions, and appropriate credit structure based on risk considerations. The CLM Analyst supports underwriting and monitoring of credit risk across lending products for Citi CCB relationships. The role drives internal analytical work product to underpin credit approval decisions and maintains ongoing credit oversight through quarterly and/or annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and other reporting. The analyst builds knowledge of the industry/sector drivers and key performance indicators to inform underwriting decisions and proactively manage the portfolio. The analyst assists with sector insights and develops credit-specific risk assessments for new originations and portfolio requests. The role also requires understanding Citi and CCB credit policies, processes, and procedures, applying them consistently to ensure appropriate risk rating, proper security (where applicable), and addressing early warning signs. CLM is a critical “first line of defense” control function ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory frameworks and timely responses to inquiries. The CLM Analyst contributes to strategic projects and can participate in NAM or Global CLM initiatives. The role expects rapid development of technical skills through training across CCB to support credit skills development. Key Responsibilities
Facilitate the end-to-end lending process within the NAM CCB for the assigned relationships and portfolio Rapidly develop knowledge of the assigned portfolio and industry, and produce well-supported analysis balancing risk and business objectives Ensure appropriate regulatory classification and minimize net credit losses; identify emerging concerns for escalation Produce analysis and workflow supporting underwriting requests for new-to-bank and existing credit relationships, including pre-screening, amendments, extensions, annual reviews, and related diligence Prepare timely monthly and/or quarterly financial memo reviews to track covenant compliance and coordinate actions with stakeholders Facilitate loan documentation for new transactions and amendments, coordinating with internal partners and outside counsel to reflect terms and conditions in closing documents Attend periodic meetings regarding covered portfolio clients and select new-to-bank opportunities with CLM Credit Officer and Relationship Management Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of credit products and services for CCB clients Mentor and develop junior staff and support coverage Recommend changes to improve processes for efficiency and controls Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to move transactions forward with appropriate controls Qualifications
1-3 years of banking, finance or related experience in credit underwriting, portfolio and/or risk management with a multinational financial services organization Knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts and their application in credit underwriting Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation and listening) and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrates learning agility: seeks resources and experience to continually build knowledge/skills and applies learning to new situations Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications, including data visualization Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree(s) and certifications considered but not required Job Family Group:
