ASRC Federal is a leading government contractor supporting missions in space, public health and defense. This is a 100% on-site, full-time position at the William J Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, on the TFDM team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Overview
TFDM is the Surface Management Solution for the FAA’s NextGen program. The role involves data analysis, data integration, and supporting performance assessments to improve surface operations and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for TFDM.
- Gather, normalize, and integrate data from multiple sources including TFDM, ERAM, STARS, SWIM, TBFM, and surface surveillance systems (e.g., ASDE-X, ASSC).
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to support ongoing monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Analyze aircraft surface movement data, runway utilization, pushback times, taxi-out delays, and metering effectiveness to evaluate TFDM system impact.
- Support FAA stakeholders with analysis of throughput, delay reduction, queue management, and overall efficiency improvements.
- Analyze data from test events (FAT, SAT, ORD) and provide quantitative assessments and visualizations to validate TFDM performance against baselines.
- Design and maintain dashboards and visual reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present KPIs for internal and external stakeholders; tailor dashboards to support roles such as system engineers, site implementation leads, and FAA program managers.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and outliers in operational data; perform root cause analysis to uncover system issues or inefficiencies; generate actionable insights for system enhancements, procedural changes, or training needs.
- Validate data accuracy and completeness; ensure data handling complies with FAA data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and developers to align data logging and telemetry with analysis requirements; develop and deliver recurring and ad-hoc reports to TFDM program leadership and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of models that support predictive surface metering and traffic flow optimization; assist in evaluating model performance and recommending improvements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify analysis needs and translate technical requirements into data products that support program goals and decision-making.
- Maintain proper documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and data sources to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
Qualifications
Citizenship/Permanent Residency
- Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
- Have resided in the US for three consecutive years.
- Company cannot sponsor candidates at this time.
Relocation
- Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Education
All non-US degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a related technical field with math/computer science coursework and relevant experience; or
- Master’s Degree in any field with substantial coursework in mathematics, statistics, and computer science and related work experience.
Job Duties

- Ensure data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity compliance; maintain documentation.
Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard hours.
- Occasional travel (10%).
