Shipping Specialist - Cleveland, OH
Location: 4520 Richmond Road, Warrensville Heights, OH
Pay Rate: $18.00
Length of Assignment: 3+ months
The Shipping Specialist ensures the accurate and timely shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous goods, while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and optimizing shipping processes. This role supports the packaging and distribution of samples, tradeshow shipments, and high-priority international orders, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs and company goals.
What You'll Need To Have
High school diploma or GED 3-5 years of shipping/logistics operational experience Proven experience with UPS worldship and Fed Ex small package. Exposure to LTL shipments, standard packaging, and BOLs.
What You'll Be Doing
Ships hazardous small packages and LTL shipments, including packaging, documentation, and scheduling, while adhering to dangerous goods shipping requirements. Handles non-hazardous international shipments, ensuring all necessary documents are provided and sent with packages. Packages samples and tradeshow shipments, create displays, and coordinate with teams for required literature or swag items. Establishes and maintains shipping procedures for incoming and outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and high levels of order fulfillment. Manages international shipments via UPS/FedEx and LTL carriers, as well as retail shipping processes for companies like Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Home Depot. Oversees pick and pack operations, optimizing efficiencies and managing staffing needs in shipping and/or receiving. Implements receiving and inspection procedures for inbound materials to ensure proper handling. Steps in for the department supervisor as needed and support the smooth operation of the department. Designs and implements effective order acknowledgment and shipping processes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to high-value customers. Follows all safety guidelines and adheres to all daily housekeeping initiatives. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with peers, managers and vendors. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed. #SSEIND
