New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Salary ranges listed in the posting are subject to change and may not reflect deductions or differential pay. In addition to the regular salary, this classification is eligible for the following pay differentials: Recruitment & Retention - $200/month (for offices in LA County, Santa Clara County, Solano County) Education - Pay Differential 244 Longevity - Pay Differential 245 New to state candidates for the Investigator (8610) classification are entitled to the entrance salary rate (minimum) for Range A, currently $6,339. Candidates who meet alternate range criteria (ARC) 492 will qualify for Range B minimum of $7,306. About the Agency

BACKGROUND CHECK, FINGERPRINTING, PSYCHOLOGICAL SCREENING, AND MEDICAL EXAMINATION ARE REQUIRED. Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment with variety? CDI seeks a dynamic Detective with recent State service as a peace officer investigating auto, workers compensation, property and casualty insurance fraud, and the ability to generate clear investigative reports. Under supervision of a Supervising Fraud Investigator I, Investigators are assigned law enforcement responsibilities ranging from entry level to highly complex duties and casework. Investigators conduct criminal investigations of felony violations of State and Federal law relating to insurance fraud and white-collar crime. Incumbents may work alone, with a team, or as a lead investigator across State and Federal courts. This position involves a full range of peace officer duties in accordance with the California Penal Code, Section 830.3. This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The appointee must complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply may void the appointment. Special Requirements: The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation cleared prior to hire. The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to hire.
