What the Role Is
The Production Scheduler for Bottling will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments of plant operations according to the production schedule for the Bottling department. Duties include reviewing and distributing production schedules; conferring with other departments to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work and inventory levels. This position will assist in planning and managing all scheduling activities, balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support customer demand, inventory goals, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements. Heavy emphasis will be placed on process automation and digital transformation in the scheduling department. This position will serve as a subject matter expert for ERP system projects.
How will you spend Your Time? Participate with ERP design teams and assist in site installation efforts for new production planning systems, eliminating the use of offline spreadsheets and processes for scheduling. Assist efforts to install standard processes for Scheduling functions, following MRP (Material Requirements Planning) methodology. Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Review documents, such as production schedules and work orders, to determine product or material requirements. Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes. Revise production schedules when required due to product or material shortages, collaborating with management and production personnel. Record production data, including production volume, production line, and case serial numbers, ensuring all serial numbers and production numbers balance by bottling line at the completion of the shift. Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed and communicated throughout the production shift. Evaluation and reporting of daily plant reliability metrics. Assist in the calculation of requirements for raw materials, purchased parts, and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology. Establish goals and report daily schedule attainment metrics with plant personnel. Update/ Review scheduling assumptions in relation to changeovers and communicate discrepancies with production personnel. Ensure accuracy of recorded production data, including production volume, consumption of raw materials, or quality control measures. Provide support and back-up to the Production Scheduler. Who You Are...
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field. Minimum two years of experience in production scheduling, preferably within the CPG industry. Familiarity with ERP/ MRP systems (e.g., SAP, IFS), production planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced Excel skills). Strong ability to analyze production data, forecast demand, and make data-driven scheduling decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination across departments. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and active listening skills. Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements preferred. Physical Requirements
