Supervisor Of Export & Trade Compliance
The Supervisor of Export & Trade Compliance provides leadership, direction, and hands-on support within their assigned areas to ensure the company's trade practices comply with all local and international regulations governing the movement of products to customers. This role is accountable for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all shipped products and the associated export documentation. Additionally, the Supervisor oversees the timely and precise coordination of goods and product movement, whether between countries or within the domestic United States, and assists in resolving any escalated issues that may arise during the process. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Trade Compliance team to ensure effective performance and accountability. Ensure full compliance with all U.S. and international regulations governing the export of goods. Maintain current knowledge of trade and export regulations, proactively updating and modifying processes to maintain compliance. Conduct regular reviews of the company's export processes to identify gaps and implement improvements. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to uphold compliance standards and enhance customer satisfaction. Oversee and drive the performance and development of the Trade Compliance team. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall trade compliance objectives, and Veeder-Root factory. Additional Responsibilities
Supervise and perform duties of Trade Compliance Specialists as needed. Maintain document traceability on import/export processes to ensure compliance with the Duty Drawback Program. Annually update Free Trade Agreement (FTA) information and qualify newly exported parts for FTA when identified. Update parts with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Commerce Control List (CCL) restrictions. Pull import data from ITRAC for previous months via the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). Download and review export data from ACE. Prepare and process export documentation such as customs declarations, commercial invoices, and other country-specific customs clearance requirements. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations including export controls, trade restrictions, and sanctions. Maintain accurate records of all export transactions and related documentation. Maintain Hockman Lewis releases. File blue shippers by creating Bills of Lading (BOL) and send to Finance. Track invoiced exports not picked up and report to Finance at the end of each month. Maintain up-to-date standard work instructions. Assist with special projects, including process improvement initiatives. Collaborate and communicate with all U.S. carriers and freight forwarders (preferred and non-preferred), customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in shipments to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure timely pickup of goods. Track, trace, and update the status of outgoing shipments. Actively identify and resolve any issues that may impact shipment status, such as cross shipments, missing shipments, and document issues. Prepare and process shipment documentation, including Bills of Lading. Verify accuracy of shipment information such as weight, volume, product description, and pricing. Ensure accurate and timely billing of all shipments. Maintain accurate files of all goods shipped. Background and Skills
Associate degree preferred, not required. Experience working in a logistics or export related role. Knowledge of logistics and transportation industry practices and terminology. Understanding and knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility to work different hours as needed to fit the business needs. Ability to create, read, pivot, manage and analyze data using Excel.
