Product Owner (contract) role in Lake Mary, Florida. We are seeking a
Product Owner
with a strong background in client onboarding and user experience to support the successful delivery of a high-impact onboarding application at
BNY . This role will drive product execution, workflow optimization, and data-informed decision-making in a highly collaborative Agile environment. The ideal candidate brings passion, persistence, and a strong sense of ownership to product deliveryespecially when navigating technical and operational roadblocks. This is a
12-month contract
with the potential to convert to full-time. The role is
hybrid
4 days on-site based in
Lake Mary, Florida . Key Responsibilities
Product Execution: Own the full product backlog, writing and refining user stories, managing prioritization, and ensuring alignment across engineering, UX, and stakeholder teams. Onboarding Application Support: Lead the enhancement of an onboarding application, ensuring workflows are intuitive, scalable, and client-ready. Workflow Design & Optimization: Collaborate with engineers and UX teams to ensure onboarding workflows and processes are seamless and efficient; identify gaps and areas for automation or AI enhancement. Agile Delivery: Lead Agile ceremonies across the pod, track team velocity, and identify delivery efficiencies; ensure product increments are released with quality and purpose. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment from design through to production go-live. User Perspective & UX Insight: Work closely with end users to gather feedback and validate design decisions; contribute to UX improvement from a product perspective. Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze product usage and onboarding data using Tableau and other tools; transform insights into product strategy and prioritization. Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication across internal teams and leadership; deliver updates, influence roadmap direction, and build buy-in for product decisions. Presentation & Storytelling: Use tools like PowerPoint to distill technical and operational progress into compelling stories for senior leadership and business partners. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in product ownership or product management Proven ability to manage complex backlogs, write clear specs, and align development teams around product goals Hands-on experience supporting client onboarding applications or digital customer journeys Understanding of UX principles, wireframes, and end-user experience; comfortable providing design feedback Experience with Jira, Tableau, workflow design, and Agile methodologies Exposure to UX design, working side-by-side with design and front-end teams Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present product direction using data Bachelor's degree required (field of study flexible) Preferred Experience
Background in financial services or highly regulated environments Experience with AI-driven workflows or automation in product development Strong passion for solving problems and unblocking teamsespecially in ambiguous or complex delivery environments Why Join Us
