Senior Cloud Migration Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to help clients move from on-premises or VMware environments into AWS cloud-native services. In this role, you'll design, implement, and optimize migration strategies that modernize applications using AWS-native tools, containers, and serverless architectures. You'll play a key part in ensuring smooth transitions that follow best practices and align with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Responsibilities Plan and execute cloud migration projects, leveraging AWS-native tools and methodologies. Design and support scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AWS infrastructures. Use services like Migration Hub (MGN) and Database Migration Service (DMS) to move workloads. Build automation with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation). Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability. Collaborate with teams on compute, storage, networking, and security. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to client teams adopting AWS. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues to minimize disruptions. Qualifications
7+ years of experience building AWS environments. 2+ years hands-on with AWS migration services (MGN, DMS, etc.). Strong background in migration planning and execution across the Mobilize and Migrate phases. Proficient with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC. Skilled in automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash). Solid understanding of AWS core services and infrastructure. Experience working with multiple clients in parallel. Preferred Skills
Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and performance optimization. Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS). Cloud security best practices (access controls, encryption, threat detection). Database and data integration experience (SQL/NoSQL, ETL processes). AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification. Experience with VMware environments and cost optimization strategies.
