About the role

Reckitt is seeking a hands-on manager focused in Cleaning and Hygienic Design who can bring innovation and skill to our Zeeland, MI manufacturing site. In this role, you will contribute to the team’s exciting journey through the development of new equipment and improvement of cleaning processes for some of the most trusted infant formula brands. Your expertise will be the driving force behind flawless production that will impact lives globally. Your responsibilities

  • Manage team of specialists and process engineers focused in cleaning and hygienic design
  • Develop, implement, and validate best cleaning practices and technologies for the site partnering with R&D, global technical teams, and quality.
  • Continuously maintain cleaning systems and validation program to ensure compliance to regulatory and internal requirements
  • Work cross functionally to continuously improve technical process engineering standards towards hygienic design
  • Facilitates and works with training and development team to continuously improve the training of our operations team on our cleaning programs.
  • Complete hygienic design assessments of new and existing equipment to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Cleaning functional representative in designing equipment and facilities to ensure efficient cleaning and sanitation, minimizing contamination risks, and maintaining product quality
  • Leads resolution of CIP processing problems using structured problem solving tools
  • Manage the cleaning/sanitation service providers to drive support to optimize cleaning processes

The experience we're looking for

  • Minimum of five years of supervisory and sanitation experience in the food, dairy or infant formula industry.
  • Four year degree desired in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology or an equivalent field. In lieu of above formal educational experience, demonstration of the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform food equipment sanitation program supervision will be considered
  • Understand and have expert knowledge of chemicals, wet & dry cleaning techniques, dryout processes, equipment design to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization.
  • Experience in 3A and EHEDG hygienic design standards and application
  • Experience in Liquid Milk Processing, Spray Drying, Blending, Powder Transport, and Packaging knowledge desired.
  • Knowledge of microbiology, nutritional products, food chemistry, analytical sampling and testing, and product formulation strongly desired.
  • Experienced with GMPs, FDA, FSSC, HACCP/Food Safety management systems.
  • PCQI certification preferred.
  • Experience managing cleaning/sanitation service providers preferred.
  • Some travel, including internationally, may be required.

Salary Range

USD  $106,000.00  -  $160,000.00

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
