Position Summary

Seeking a professional to provide daily operational and systems support to colleagues across a variety of commercial loan operations functions, including loan booking, collateral booking, agency services, research and maintenance, and SBA/government lending. The candidate must have direct, hands-on experience working in a front-line commercial loan operations role, bringing deep operational insight, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to drive improvements across systems and processes. The initial contract will be for 7 months with the option to extend or convert to a full-time position. This opportunity is based in the vibrant city of Columbus, offering a dynamic work environment and a thriving community.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for front-line staff and managers to resolve process and systems issues.
  • Provide day-to-day support for loan operations functions including booking, maintenance, and servicing.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate system-related problems in AFS Vision, FIS ACBS, and other operations systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in commercial loan operations processes and systems.
  • Provide guidance and training to operations staff on best practices and system usage.
  • Analyze and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Project Management & Delivery
  • Lead and manage small to mid-sized projects from planning through execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Risk, Technology, and Business stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate testing activities (SIT, UAT, etc.) across operations teams as new patches and releases are deployed to operations systems.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, timelines, and status reports.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Partner with technology teams to implement system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Support change management efforts and ensure smooth adoption of new processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years bank operations experience, or High School Diploma with 5 years bank operations experience.
  • 2 years as an operations analyst or business analyst in a banking environment.
  • 2 years hands-on experience in a team lead or analyst role supporting servicing and operations of commercial and/or business banking loans.
  • Demonstrated experience resolving operational issues and improving processes from within commercial banking operations.
  • Critical thinker, very organized, ability to resolve problems independently, work with a sense of urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a production environment under time constraints and strict deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers to achieve positive results while working in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
Preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with AFS Vision and/or FIS ACBS loan accounting systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project) is a plus.
