Store Protection Specialist – Ross Stores, Inc. Our values start with our people. As part of our team, you will experience a visible presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor to deter theft and maintain a safe environment for associates and customers. General Purpose: This position provides a visible presence at store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment. The Specialist makes eye contact, greets customers, and monitors the Code 50 package inspection policy in a company-issued vest/black attire. The role supports Loss Prevention directives and works with Store Leadership to minimize operational shortage. Embrace Company values and protect the Ross treasure. Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and customers; practice safe behaviors on the sales floor. Provide visible presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor, greets customers, and monitor for safety issues. Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits. Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and maintaining professionalism. Partner with Store Leadership to ensure compliance with Loss Prevention directives and minimize shortages. Represent and support the company brand at all times; maintain professional appearance per dress code. Monitor entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft; gather theft indicators and communicate findings to leadership. Adhere to company policies for external theft responses and execute best practices to maximize productivity. Train and educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives; participate in internal/external partner communications and recognition programs. Other duties as assigned to support Loss Prevention initiatives. Qualifications And Special Skills
High school education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred. One year of retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred. One year of loss prevention/security training preferred. Active Security Guard License preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team; excellent customer service skills. Proven ability to resolve conflict; compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions (including background screening, physical exam, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol testing). Physical Requirements/ADA
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform upward pulling; ability to bend, stoop, or crouch as needed. Other qualifications may be required depending on daily business need.
