Qualifications: Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential preferred Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Strong knowledge of orientation and mobility assessment and instruction techniques Ability to develop individualized programs tailored to student needs Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers Location: Position based in Cranston, Rhode Island Responsibilities: Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction and training to students with visual impairments Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate goals Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to integrate mobility skills into daily routines Maintain accurate records and progress reports Consult on accommodations and accessibility within the school setting Benefits: Engage in focused intervention benefiting student independence and safety Part-time contract format allowing for schedule flexibility Opportunity to contribute expertise within a dedicated educational team This position awaits final details regarding hours.
