Business Analyst

We are seeking a full-time professional to assist with Integrated Planning across UC's campuses. This individual will help identify and align plans, strategies, and resources across UC's Provostal units using data and additional guidance from key partners across the institution. Individual must be on campus at least three (3) days per week. A vital component of this role is a demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of multiple cross-disciplinary teams with initiative and critical and creative thinking to drive projects and initiatives forward.

Essential Functions

Support Strategic Alignment

  • Assist in the research, planning, and coordination of specialized and complex administrative, operational, and educational activities to implement major changes across the institution.
  • Assist with establishing best practices and developing actionable data-driven insights and recommendations to support the organizational decision-making process. Will need to create executive summaries and benchmark reports.
  • Assist staff with problem resolution and research related to operational, IT systems, and business office processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Recommend policy and procedure changes.
  • Analyze Data and Report on Performance
  • Analyze the business objectives of departments and develop empathetic, data-driven solutions.
  • Support reporting and analytical solutions within one or more business units. Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability work with databases and large data sets.

Facilitating Communication and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with professionals from various fields. Act as both an influencing partner and change agent to implement solutions.
  • Lead and communicate business workflows and processes to the UC Community via reports, presentations, web sites, intranet, and other mediums.
  • May represent administrators on committees and attend meetings on behalf of administrator.

Other Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administrator's calendar including daily schedule, monitoring and reviewing meeting requests, establishing appointment priorities, and coordinating travel arrangements and related requirements (e.g., preparing expense claims and verifying expenditures are within university guidelines).
  • Ability to work on-campus at least three days per week in order to assess and document buildings and facilities. Physical job requirements can include lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and more.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of related experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
