A Special Education teaching position is available for grades 6-12 in a K-12 school setting located in Shepherd, MT. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers an 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, aligned with the academic calendar. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students needs Build strong, supportive relationships with students, particularly those facing mental health challenges Collaborate with staff and families to support student success across various subject areas Maintain compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirements Participate in training and professional development, including certification in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Qualifications: Valid Special Education certification Experience in IEP development and implementation Ability to effectively engage students with mental health struggles Willingness to obtain VIP certification focusing on de-escalation techniques and safe person-to-person restraints as needed Strong communication and relationship-building skills This position provides a balanced caseload that allows for meaningful instruction and student engagement in a supportive environment.
