Part-time, 5 days per week Teacher of the Deaf (TOD): Monday & Thursday Sign Language Interpreter (SLI): Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday Key Responsibilities: Provide effective ASL interpretation and support during classroom instruction and related school activities Collaborate closely with the student, family, teachers, and support staff to develop communication strategies that meet the students unique needs Facilitate the student's access to curriculum and social interactions using ASL in conjunction with their existing verbal communication skills Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions and documentation Qualifications & Experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting in educational settings Familiarity with working alongside students who use cochlear implants or other hearing devices Ability to adapt communication methods tailored to the students learning style and family preferences Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families This position is ideal for a committed Sign Language Interpreter who is passionate about supporting students with diverse communication needs in an elementary school environment.
