Soliant Education is seeking a qualified
Special Education Teacher
for an onsite role near Oxford, ME
for the 2025-2026 school year. This position requires a dedicated and compassionate educator who has experience working with students who present emotional, learning, and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a track record of implementing effective individualized education programs. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized academic and behavioral programs
Supervise and support paraprofessional staff
Design and apply successful instructional strategies tailored to student needs
Implement appropriate modifications and accommodations
Consult with the school BCBA and related service providers
Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff
Manage IEP development and facilitate IEP meetings
Collect and analyze academic and behavioral data
Maintain special education records in compliance with state and federal laws
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback
Support transition planning for students placed out of district
Requirements:
Valid
Maine State Certification - Teacher of Exceptional Students (282)
Previous experience working with students with emotional, learning, and behavioral challenges
Demonstrated behavior intervention and classroom management skills
Knowledge of special education law, compliance, and case management
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team
