About the Role
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems within a precision manufacturing and metal fabrication environment. This position ensures compliance with ISO 9001 standards, leads root cause analysis investigations, and drives corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer supports production teams, supplier quality management, and continuous improvement initiatives while monitoring key quality metrics. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to ensure ISO 9001 compliance and meet customer requirements
Monitor production processes and conduct inspections to detect nonconformities and ensure product quality
Lead root cause analysis investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies
Analyze quality data and prepare reports on key performance indicators and process trends
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related issues quickly and effectively
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining audit readiness
Manage non-conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and internal teams
Maintain calibration schedules for inspection and measurement tools to ensure accuracy
Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis to improve manufacturing performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability, reduce defects, and increase customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of three years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems
Proficiency in statistical process control and measurement system analysis
Experience with corrective and preventive action processes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality analysis tools such as Minitab
Desired Qualifications:
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from ASQ
Experience with metal fabrication processes, machining, and welding operations
Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and precision measurement tools
Knowledge of advanced product quality planning, failure mode and effects analysis, and production part approval process
Experience working with ERP systems and integrated quality management modules
