Mission:

To produce radiographs to customer and PCC specifications for evaluation of castings. Responsibilities Setup

accurately set up castings for radiography. Check routing or requests to determine x-ray needs, review Technique Cards for setup requirements (x-ray techniques, part positions, Film/IP requirements), set up additional radiographs, inspect Film/IP and cassettes, place castings on x-ray tables with fixturing, identify DICOM tags and penetrameters, set exposure parameters, determine radiograph priority, develop setup practices for new techniques, inspect castings for dirt or debris. X-Ray Operation

operate x-ray machines to take multiple views within customer specs, monitor and generate exposures for system qualifications, concurrently run multiple radiographic exams, remove Film/IP for processing, review radiographs for artifacts and coverage, reshoot as needed, be prepared for audits (PCC NDTE, NADCAP, ISO 9000, etc.). Train, mentor and assist less skilled Radiographers as needed. Complete logs and records; document modifications to Technique Cards. Meet all production and quality standards. Safety

adhere to safety rules, safely operate equipment, identify and report safety problems. Other (Marginal) Accountabilities

perform other tasks as directed and assist other x-ray department personnel. Essential Equipment

list includes x-ray machines, hoists, pallet jacks, pentrameters, styrofoam blocks, wooden wedges, straps, clamps, Digital IPS, imaging plates, lead backs, measuring tools, cassettes, fixtures, calculators, cameras (tech development and NDTE). Training On-the-job training provided. Radiography Level 1 courses completed (radiation safety, digital method training, etc.). Radiographer Level I Certification for all modalities (Film, CR, DDA). Recertify - Level 1 every five years. Qualifications Radiography skills demonstrated by performance of duties or equivalent training/experience. High school diploma or GED (necessary for NDT Certification). Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to read and interpret Technique Cards, Quality Control Manuals and other technical specs. Effective verbal and written communication. Physical ability to perform essential job functions. Experience & Education On-the-job training provided. Radiography Level 1 courses completed; Radiation safety and digital method training. Radiographer Level I Certification for all modalities; recertification every five years. Compliance This position includes information access subject to national security controls under ITAR and EAR.
