Mammography Technologist | St. Rita's Medical Center. At Bon Secours Mercy Health, we are dedicated to continually improving health care quality, safety and cost effectiveness. The Registered Mammography Technologist produces high quality breast imaging procedures following ARRT, ACR and MQSA guidelines. They will perform screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA scans according to established protocols for interpretation by supervising physician. Essential Job Functions
Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures. Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent as obtained by the physician. Correlates patient clinical history with the procedure; documents information and makes it available for use by a licensed provider. Communicates patient history to the licensed provider prior to examination. Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and related devices to achieve desired results. Applies appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to produce quality diagnostic images. Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Ensures patient safety during all aspects of mammographic procedures. Provides patient education and discharge instructions. Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans. This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and may include other duties as required by the supervisor. Licensing/Certification
Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred upon hire, or must obtain within six months of hire). State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state). BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required or preferred upon hire per site policy). Education
Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred). Work Experience
1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred). Training
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred); Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) (preferred). Language

Adults (18-64 years); Geriatrics (65 years and older). Working Conditions
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions. General office environment. Physical Requirements
Physical demands include lifting/carrying 0-50 lbs, 50-100 lbs; push/pull; stoop, kneel; climb; balance; bend; manual dexterity; ability to maneuver weight of patients; hear alarms; reach above shoulder; repetitive arm/hand movements; color vision; depth perception. Skills
