Overview
Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist position in Seattle, Washington. Travel assignment duration: 18 weeks. Start Date: 09/29/2025. Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, days. Employment Type: Travel. Pay package details subject to confirmation. Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure readiness for procedures Manage and restock procedural supplies (catheters, guidewires, contrast agents) Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards Qualifications
Required Qualifications One years recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC) Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities, and ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. The IR Technologist works closely with the interventional radiologist and healthcare team to support complex vascular and non-vascular procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Essential Work Functions
Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures Operate imaging equipment to guide procedures Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions Ensure proper radiation safety measures Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment Manage procedural supplies and equipment Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures Other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong communication Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency with computer systems Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment, lift 50-100 lbs, push/pull, and bend Ability to work with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism Technical/motor skills for assisting with procedures and using department equipment Ability to handle deadlines under pressure and adapt to varying schedules Visual acuity and effective communication skills Benefits
