Job Title: Cybersecurity Analyst (0168A) Reports to: Cybersecurity Engineer Dept. /School: Technology Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Pay Grade: T05 Duty Days: 235 Date Revised: 09/2025

Primary Purpose: Support efforts of the Cybersecurity Engineer team to maintain network security systems including but not limited to the following: Firewall systems, Email filtering, Malware and virus protection, Endpoint Security, and Internet content filtering. Acquire necessary skill and experience to become a Network Security Engineer.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or related field preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of: Modern firewall solutions (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.). Email security solutions (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast, Microsoft Defender, Google Workspace). SIEM platforms for log collection, analysis, and monitoring. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools. Enterprise-grade malware and antivirus solutions. Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts including SSO, MFA, and role-based access control. Experience with modern firewall, email security, internet filtering, and endpoint security solutions Two or more years of work installing/maintaining/upgrading enterprise networks a plus. Ability to communicate and resolve issues as an individual or in a group. Ability to maintain a professional attitude and manage multiple issues simultaneously. Strong documentation skills for processes, procedures, and system configurations

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Support and maintain modern firewall solutions. Support and maintain enterprise wide Endpoint security solution Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM platforms and assist with analysis. Provide documentation of current environments, changes, and security recommendations. Assist with identity and access management (IAM), including account provisioning, deprovisioning, MFA, SSO, and access reviews. Work with district teams and vendors to provide uninterrupted services changes. Assist with district-wide cybersecurity awareness efforts and promote safe technology practices among staff and students. Monitor district networks, servers, and systems for threats and security breaches. Conduct basic vulnerability testing and assist with remediation efforts. Participate in incident response activities as directed, including detection, containment, and recovery. Assist in the district's Cybersecurity and Disaster Recovery planning and oversee the execution of related practice exercises. Stays current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used: Network cabling tools, Network troubleshooting tools, Network evaluation software, Email security appliances, Malware/AV software

Working Conditions: Office desk position, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, overhead reaching, keyboard and kneeling. Lifting of 50 lbs., frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment. Frequent district travel.
