We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (FGP) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for performing medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures and works under general direction. Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties. Operates hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to nuclear medicine. Correctly chooses appropriate patient information from HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Demonstrates ability to access patient information such as appointment times, type of exam, and patient reports. Follows departmental policy of documenting beginning, completion and departure times, when appropriate, in the RIS. Demonstrates knowledge of the HIS and is able to access patient data for verification of orders. Competent in scheduling exams in RIS from the order entry queue and/or demonstrates the ability to modify exams when necessary. Assesses patient information and status, follows appropriate procedures, verifies patient identity, and confers with medical staff as needed to determine the required protocol. Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Explains procedures and equipment to patients, obtains formal consent when necessary, and supports patient comfort before, during, and after procedures while maintaining patient privacy. Prepares radiopharmaceutical dose using proper procedures and calculations; verifies label, activity, and dose with a dose calibrator; calibrates and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals as needed; positions patient and equipment to obtain optimal imaging information. Performs imaging procedures, analyzes data, and reports results to the physician for interpretation; maintains and documents quality control and equipment setup as required. Solves problems during examinations, modifies procedures as needed, and communicates with other technologists and staff to optimize patient care. Assists physicians as needed during procedures and ensures timely completion of examinations; maintains clean and safe work areas and properly handles imaging and non-imaging equipment and supplies. Performs non-imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols; collects specimens when required and handles radiopharmacy duties and radiation safety tasks per policy. Follows radiation safety guidelines and regulatory requirements; conducts contamination surveys and decontamination as needed; takes measures to reduce exposure and ensure safety for patients and staff. Maintains documentation for quality control, dose preparation and administration, receipt of radioactive materials, radiopharmaceuticals, and waste disposal. Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree, required. Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) recognized nuclear medicine technology program. Eligible to take certification exam in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT. New York State License (Nuclear Medicine). Required Licenses
Nuc Med Technologist License, NMTCB certification, ARRT registration as applicable. Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology (preferred). Previous experience with cardiac nuclear medicine (highly preferred). Bilingual Polish or Spanish (a plus). Equal Opportunity

We provide a salary range to comply with New York state law. The salary range for the role is $106,212.00 - $118,232.40 annually.
