Overview
Summary: Under direct supervision, performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women patients for our client facilities. May perform screening exams or diagnostic exams. This role involves patient care as part of the essential duties. Essential Functions
Greet and prepare patients for their procedures Take verbal orders from physician Perform therapeutic and diagnostic studies on patients Prints film or burns CDs if warranted. Matches with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assist in quality improvement programs in the department. Assists in training new personnel in hospital and department procedures. Instructs Radiologic Technology students in the radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique. Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting Education
Associate's Degree in Radiology required Licenses and Credentials
Radiologic Technologist [State License] required Registered Technologist [ARRT-R] required Mammography [ARRT-M] - required within 1 year Experience
mammography work experience 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to handle assignments under minimal supervision is essential. Familiarity with and ability to use specialized equipment. Strong interpersonal skills to place patients and family members at ease. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Knowledge of sterile technique. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Physical Requirements
