Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist interprets physicians orders and performs diagnostic radiography and MRI scans, demonstrating expertise in use of equipment. Prepares equipment, correctly positions patients, and applies proper techniques for procedures. Prepares required reports and documentation, maintains work area, and assists in other support activities for the department, such as transporting patients. Works with department administration to get MRI services accredited with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and State License as required. Responsibilities

Interpret physician orders and perform diagnostic radiography and MRI scans with appropriate equipment and techniques. Prepare equipment, correctly position patients, and apply proper techniques for procedures. Prepare required reports and documentation; maintain the work area; assist in other department support activities (e.g., transporting patients). Collaborate with department administration to achieve MRI service accreditation with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and obtain/state licensure as required. Qualifications

Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an MR Technologist (RTMR) or be ARRT-certified and/or have appropriate state licensure, with six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience. Credentialed as MRI Technologist preferred and must have at least three years of experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must be fluent in the English language.
