American Express Cloud Engineering provides a comprehensive platform that enables business critical applications to have faster Time-to-Market for American Express. The platform offers fast-paced rapid code-to-development models and services such as Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, DB-as-a-Service, CICD Pipelines, etc. for application developers in a hybrid cloud environment. Amex Cloud Platform enables Application developers to write modern scalable cloud native applications. As a Senior Manager, Infra Engineering you will be part of the Cloud Engineering Team that builds core CI/CD and Observability capabilities to enable Application teams to build modern applications. The architecture includes usage of DevOps components in a hybrid cloud model and technologies that drive to build modern applications. How will you make an impact in this role? Responsible for leading an Engineering team within enterprise CI/CD that provide new capabilities to American Express developers Responsibilities Lead engineering for the CI/CD teams, focusing on high availability, scalability, and reliability Manage and implement ITIL / ITSM processes Partner with Product, Ops, and architecture stakeholders to align on roadmap execution, prioritize initiatives, and deliver on OKRs/Tech KPIs Drive resolution of technical issues, oversee risk mitigation, and escalate as needed to maintain service continuity Optimize infrastructure platform health using diagnostics, monitoring tools, and automation strategies Manage, lead and mentor a team of engineersco-located or remoteproviding performance feedback, professional development, and career coaching Minimum Qualifications 10 years of industry experience, including 45 years in relevant infrastructure/cloud roles. Hands-on experience CI/CD and/or Observability and building complex infrastructure. Strong background in Linux systems engineering, web technologies (HTTP, SSL, routers, load-balancing), and infrastructure platforms (IaaS, PaaS). Must have experience of Kubernetes, Openshift, infra as code frameworks, API Gateways, CNCF technologies, CI/CD tools, Cloud Native application architectures, and any public cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and service-restoration skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with customer-centric communicationespecially during outages or escalations Able to interpret technical/business objectives and articulate clear, scalable solutions. Familiarity with Agile and ITIL frameworks, comfortable operating in fast-paced or startup-style environments. Team leadership and development Strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration Performance and SLA oversight Stakeholder engagement and influencing technical direction Qualifications Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $210,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
