Overview
Ultrasound Tech Float at Optum. This role operates sonographic equipment and performs and communicates results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsible for daily operations within the Imaging - Ultrasound Department, including patient schedules, reporting equipment failures, and quality assessment. Responsibilities Following physician's orders, performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations (OB, ABD, Small parts, and Vascular). Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images. Greets patients, correctly identifies them, prepares for examination, and explains procedures in confidential area. Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the physician. Accurately maintains patient imaging records, utilizing RIS and PACS/Synapse in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Obtains pertinent medical history, prepares preliminary reports for radiologist, and contacts referring physicians when required. Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, ensures adequate supplies, and contacts service as required. Monitors PACS/Synapse and RIS for integrity of patient information and image transfer. May be assigned to other modalities if certified or licensed. Complies with annual mandatory fit testing as a job requirement.
Note:
Pay and benefits depend on factors including location, education, experience, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this role is $28.27 to $50.48 per hour (full-time). Required Qualifications Graduate of a formally accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Active ARDMS certification Current CPR certification 1+ years of Ultrasound experience
