Position Summary
Under general guidance, operates MRI equipment to assist in the safe and efficient diagnosis and assessment of patient conditions, in accordance with established procedures. Position Summary: $10,000 new hire bonus will be distributed in the following increments: Date of hire: $2,500 6 months: $5,000 1 year: $2,500 Job Responsibilities
Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or escalate needs appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control. Assists current and new employees in the use of systems/equipment and departmental policies and procedures. Recognizes problems/malfunctions of equipment and may assist in making minor adjustments. Monitors service actions by outside contractors. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Greets registered patients, triages patients, checks schedules, and assists with patient transfers and preparations. Verifies patient identity, history, and requisition for exams. Performs scans, modifies testing parameters under direction, and ensures accurate imaging. Processes and archives images per procedures. Inputs patient information into the system and scans relevant documentation. Maintains patient safety and a sterile environment, observing infection control. Sets up monitoring and stimulus equipment if applicable. Performs MRI scans, explains procedures to patients, and answers questions. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope. Education
High School Diploma Experience
Approximately 2 years of MRI technologist experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in other radiology modalities may be applicable. Graduate of approved radiography school. Licenses and Certifications
Current NY State License in Radiographic Technology (R). ARRT (MR) Certification. NYS Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification. BLS Certification (American Heart Association). Working Conditions/Physical Demands
