Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular counts, audits, and reconciliations. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment. Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately enter inventory data into the inventory management system. Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including receiving reports, transfer records, and inventory adjustment forms.
- Receiving and Shipping: Assist with receiving incoming shipments, verify quantities and inspect for damages. Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of orders.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and mislabeling. Collaborate with other departments to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Warehouse Organization: Help maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment. Ensure inventory is stored safely and accessibly, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports and provide insights to management regarding inventory trends and issues. Assist in the preparation of periodic and ad-hoc inventory reports as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher education in a related field is a plus.
- Entry-level position; no previous inventory management experience required. Warehouse experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance; work in cold environments (e.g., -22°F/-6°C) and fluctuating temperatures; may involve loud noises from equipment/machinery.
- Some PPE is required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.).
- Will work with hazardous/toxic materials; may require working at heights.
- Warehouse environment with potential for prescriptive glasses to be provided; no contact lenses allowed in certain conditions.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet inventory deadlines.
