The Christmas Coordinator position is to maintain the kettle office and be responsible for recruiting and supporting volunteers to assist in the local Salvation Army Christmas Kettle program. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Recruit volunteers for bell ringing from churches, service clubs, schools, colleges, corporations, corps, advisory board members, their families, youth organizations, senior organizations, volunteer groups, choirs, bands, and individuals. (This includes any past bell ringers/groups.) Manage TSA online volunteer recruitment. Manage and communicate with all locations of kettles/stands at store locations. Keep all avenues of volunteer sign-ups up to date (walk-in, phone, online). Maintain all records concerning volunteers, have volunteers fill out paperwork, background check, privacy waiver. Answer kettle office phone, receive voicemail, return calls, emails. Schedule delivery of countertop kettles and keep log updated of kettles signed out and pick up. Sign-out kettles to volunteers and receive and sign-in kettles at each shift. Keep track of totals for volunteers. Keep social media updated and post often. Restock outgoing kettle supplies - candy, stickers, business cards. Keep track of bells, kettles, kettle stands, signs, repairs, orders, and final assessment. Ensure kettle slips are properly labeled and placed in each kettle before volunteer exits. Help sanitize used kettles and check padlocks. Assist with counting kettle monies. Perform any other kettle/Christmas duties as assigned or needed. Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid CA CLASS C driver license. Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle various assignments and timelines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Good written and oral communication skills, capable of drafting and editing professional communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook). Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time management. Good judgment and professional conduct. Understanding of the purpose and goals of The Salvation Army is preferred. Reliable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team. Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously. Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, cabinet drawers, heavy kettles, and reach overhead. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (e.g., file boxes). Additional Details
